6th Annual Consignment Sale

  • 2026 Sale is Saturday, September 19, 2026.
    • Lunch will be served at 11am.
    • Sale starts at noon.
  • Will be held in Gainesville, Texas, at the Cooke County Fairgrounds.
  • Nominations end June 15, 2026.
  • Consignment fee: $100 per lot and embryos and flushes $50 per lot.
  • Selling Angus: Heifers, cows, bulls (commercial and registered), embryos, pregnancies, commercial females.

Angus Breeders of Texas Consignment Sale Rules

To participate in the Angus Breeders of Texas Consignment Sale the following criteria must be met.

  1. Consignor is a current American Angus Association member in good standing.
  2. Cattle being nominated are registered Angus cattle with registration papers.
  3. All nominations (including donors) must have results from either Angus GS or HD50K offered by the American Angus Association on file prior to nominating. Exceptions are calves born couple of months before sale date & still waiting AGI results.
  4. Cattle must have a clean pedigree or have a negative test of any known genomic defects.

Nominating Cattle:

  • Nominations are only accepted through the online nomination form located on our website angusbreedersoftexas.org or on our Facebook account.
  • Nominations are open from March 15 through June 15 and close promptly at 5pm via the official Angus Breeders of Texas website (angusbreedersoftexas.org). Late nominations will not be accepted.
  • Consignors are not charged a nomination fee up front. If a consignor decides to remove their nomination after they've been accepted, they will be charged a $100 fee per lot removed unless they provide a substitute lot. If a consignor decides to remove their nomination after the sale book has been printed, they will be charged a $100.00 fee per lot removed. This fee will be invoiced to the consignor after the sale or deducted from sale proceeds of the consignor.
  • All females must be 7 years old or younger at the time of the sale.
  • All females 2 years old or older must have a calf at side or be confirmed breed or have been serviced to be eligible. The only exception is a proven donor that has been flushed.
  • Any changes to your nominations must be submitted via email to our AngusBreedersofTX@gmail.com. Phone calls will not be accepted.
  • All Consignors will be notified whether their nominations were accepted into the sale once the nomination site is closed. Either by a phone call or an email.
  • Once nominations are accepted consignors will receive additional emails with important sale information. It is recommended consignors add Angus Breeders of Texas on to their email contacts to ensure receipt of sale information.

Photos and Videos:

  • ABOT will provide dates and locations in Whitney and Canton for pictures to be taken by professional photographer Sterling Friedrich. The consignor will be responsible for the cost of their pictures. If consignor is unable to bring your cattle, they should use a professional photographer. Consignors must turn in their pictures by July 31st.
  • The sale committee of Angus Breeders of Texas has the right to not include any photos in sale catalog or advertising that are deemed low or poor quality.
  • We do accept videos. Sterling Friedrich will be taking videos at our 2 picture locations. The consignor can also provide their own videos of their nominations, if desired.
  • The sale committee is the Angus Breeders of Texas board member's right to not include any videos that are deemed low or poor quality and/or not submitted correctly.

Sale Day:

  • All consignors are responsible for the care of their cattle, including feeding and watering from delivery until departure from the sale facility. Non-compliance will incur a fee to cover costs.
  • All consignors must bring a hard copy of their American Angus registration certificates on delivery of their cattle to the sale site. Give this paper work to the sale staff or sale manager. Consignors who fail to bring a hard copy of American Angus registration certificates will incur a $50.00 fee deducted from their sale proceeds.
  • The AAA registration paper must be signed on the back by the owner, have the sale date filled in, and have all breeding information filled in.
  • All consignors must bring an individual health paper copy for each animal they are selling. The health papers must be in an unsealed white letter size envelope with the lot number written on the front. Any updated breeding information must be written on the front of envelope. Consigners who fail to bring health papers forfeit their right to sell at the sale and will be charged a fee of $150.00 per lot.
  • The bull's health papers must include a trich test and semen test that should be included in the white letter size envelope. If the bull is over 16 months old, it still requires a trich & semen test.
  • It is the consignor's responsibility to provide correct breeding information when nominating their cattle and ensure it is correct in the sale book and/or on the supplement sheet.
  • The Angus Breeders of Texas provides the venue for the sale, support for consignors, equal advertising opportunities and advertising for the sale in its entirety. Each consignor may consider advertising in the sale catalog to reach Angus breeders over the USA and promote their business effectively. We offer full page ads for $500 and half-page ads for $300. It is a team effort between consignors and the Angus Breeders of Texas which ensures the opportunity to achieve a successful sale.
  • All animals should be clipped for the sale day and presented in a professional manner. It is suggested that cattle be clipped around their head, neck and tails.
  • Consignors need to keep their pens clean and tidy during the sale. It is the Consignor's responsibility to remove any signage, feed, or supplies from the facility after the sale.
  • If consignors purchased lot(s) while at the sale, they could choose to have their purchase deducted from their total sale proceeds. This must be communicated with the sale staff or sale manager.
  • A sale expense fee will be charged to all consignors after the sale. This fee covers the cost of all sale expenses. A list of expenses will be provided to all consignors with their sale proceeds check.
  • Sale proceeds will be mailed to all Consignors along with a breakdown of the consignor's lot(s) sales within 30-45 days after the sale date, if all the consignor's lot(s) have been paid in full. All other consignor proceeds will be mailed once the Angus Breeders of Texas has received payment in full for the consignor lot(s).
  • If a buyer has an issue with a lot(s) purchased, it is the Consignors responsibility to resolve the issue with buyer. If the Consignor does not make a reasonable attempt to resolve an issue with a buyer, the Consignor may lose eligibility to nominate for future Angus Breeders of Texas sponsored sales.
  • If a consignor bids up on their own cattle (lots), they will have to pay for the sale commission on the hammered price by the auctioneer.
